Continuing Education for Opticians

Continuing Education for Opticians That Actually Moves You Forward

It is easy to check the box.
It is harder to stay connected to what your work actually demands now.

OAG continuing education for opticians is designed to keep you engaged, relevant, and thinking differently about how you practice.

Not just credits.
Clarity. Confidence. Connection to the profession.

When “Staying Current” Starts to Feel Like Falling Behind

You show up. You do the work. You take your CE.

But something feels off.

The conversations in the industry are moving faster than what you hear day to day.
New technology shows up, but no one really explains how it changes your decisions.
You start to notice gaps, but there is no clear place to close them.

So CE becomes routine.

Attend. Complete. Move on.

And over time, it stops building anything meaningful.

Continuing Education Was Never Meant to Be Maintenance

When CE becomes a requirement instead of a resource, it loses its purpose.

Because continuing education for opticians is not just about maintaining a license.
It is about maintaining relevance.

It is how you stay connected to:

  • How the profession is evolving
  • How standards are shifting
  • How your decisions impact real outcomes

Without that connection, it is easy to stay busy and still fall behind.
While continuing education for opticians plays a role in maintaining licensure, that is only one piece of the picture. If you need clarity on renewal requirements or regulatory expectations, you can review Policies, Laws & Professional Standards for a complete breakdown.

Where Continuing Education Connects You Back to the Profession

OAG approaches continuing education differently.

Not as isolated classes.
Not as one-time events.

But as part of a larger professional ecosystem.

Through OAG, continuing education for opticians becomes a way to stay connected to the profession itself, not just the requirement tied to it.

You are not just learning information.
You are seeing how it fits into real-world practice, conversations, and expectations.

What You Experience Through OAG Continuing Education

You do not just attend CE. You stay engaged with the profession.

In-Person CE Events
Structured, relevant education designed around how opticians actually work and make decisions today.

Online CE Access
Flexible learning through Online CE, giving you the ability to stay consistent without disconnecting from your growth.

Professional Context
Education that reflects real-world application, not just theory or surface-level updates.

Connection Beyond the Classroom
Opportunities to engage with other licensed opticians, industry partners, and evolving ideas.

When continuing education for opticians is done right, it does not end when the course does.

Expanding Access to Continuing Education

OAG continuing education is designed to keep you connected to the profession. At the same time, access matters.

In addition to OAG-hosted events, select continuing education opportunities are offered through Optigal Consulting, led by board member Carrie Wilson.

These courses often take place in areas OAG does not regularly reach, making it easier for licensed opticians in different parts of the state to stay engaged without added travel barriers.

A portion of each Georgia-based course supports OAG, helping strengthen the same professional community you are part of.

This is not separate from the profession. It is part of how access, connection, and support continue to expand.

How Continuing Education Through OAG Works

You do not need to figure everything out at once.

Start where you are.

Attend an Event
Join a CE meeting and experience how education changes when it is tied to real-world application.

Stay Consistent with Online Learning
Use Online CE to maintain momentum between events.

If your immediate need is tied to license renewal, you can reference Policies, Laws & Professional Standards for specific requirements, then return here to choose how you want to complete your CE.

Reconnect to the Profession
Over time, CE becomes more than credits. It becomes part of how you stay sharp, informed, and connected.

Grow Through Membership
The more you engage, the more you realize this is not just about CE.
It is about where you fit in the profession.

CE Meeting Schedule

Registration typically opens 45–60 days prior to each CE meeting.
